This week #HumansofMEA are profiling Jess Glass, MEA Board Director & Senior Marketing Officer – Events and Sponsorships at The University of Queensland.

 


 

1. Jess, what strengths do you bring to the events industry?

My key strengths are determination, optimism, and perseverance, I see the cup half full and always look for way to make things work.  In events I am always looking for ways to improve the experience for attendees and create efficiencies in planning.”

 

2. It is 5 pm on a Friday – what is in your glass?

“Champagne.”

 

3. If you had a super power Jess what would it be?

“Being able to instantly travel to another city, like apparating in Harry Potter!”

 

4. Jess, if you could work anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?

“New York, I love the city and it feels like there are so many opportunities, and as Alicia Keys put it, it’s where dreams are made of!”  

 

5. How do you like your eggs?

“Poached and runny.”

 

6. Name one thing that makes a great meeting stand out and why?

“Clear objectives and common purpose.”

 

7. What is a skill no one would know you had?

“I am very extroverted so there is not much that is a secret, I love cooking!

 

8. Where is your favourite holiday destination and what activity did you spend most of the time doing?

Pre-COVID definitely Bali, eating local food and drinking cocktails by the pool. During/post COVID – camping around QLD particularly Fraser Island, switching off with no phone reception or electricity!”

 

9. What is the current TV series you are watching?

“Just finished binging Lupin and The Flight Attendant, looking for a new show…”

10. Where would we find you on the weekend?

At the beach, catching up with friends or at a park/kid’s activity with our 3-year-old daughter.”
