MEET THE SPEAKER
Michael Klug AM. FAICD
Consultant, Brisbane
Michael has practised law for over four decades and served three terms as Partner in Charge of Clayton Utz in Brisbane. He has been voted each year by his peers as one of Australia's Best Lawyers in ADR and Litigation as published in the Australian Financial Review.
Michael is recognised as one of Australia's best-known practitioners and teachers in negotiation skills, conflict management and ADR. The Golden Rules of Negotiation, which have been written, observed, and extracted by Michael, form the basis of his two-day negotiation workshops, available to MEA members at a discount.
He was one of the five founders of LEADR (Lawyers engaged in Alternative Dispute Resolution now named the Resolution Institute).
He first developed an interest in negotiation in his twenties and subsequently was educated by the Harvard Program on Negotiation, Insead, The Kellogg School of Management and elsewhere.
Michael was awarded the Order of Australia (AM) in 2015 for his work in this area and for services to the legal profession. He now specialises exclusively in negotiation and teaches and consults both in Australia and Internationally.
