MEA Workshop: Managing Conflict
What management skills do you need for a 21st century event career? Is leadership a natural skill or can it be taught? How do you lead teams that aren’t your own?
Is conflict necessary for creativity? How do we manage conflict with co-workers, clients and stakeholders while maintaining our sanity and our sense of humour?
Management and leadership are two skill sets that are vital for career progression and best practice but stepping into a leadership role also requires effective conflict management skills. Who has these? Most of us are challenged by the challenge of conflict management - but we don’t need to be.
This 2-day interactive and discussion based workshop will answer those questions and others and includes:
- Unpicking management styles – what works for you
- Authenticity in leadership
- Challenging yourself and your team to step up to leadership
- Managing conflict courageously
- Clarity of objectives, purpose and communication
This workshop is facilitated by our National Education Manager, Jo Child who has 20+ years’ experience of leading busy teams in the events, tourism and education. MEA is delighted that established event manager, Lucy Ladbrooke will join the discussion on day one and will be sharing ideas on developing your own leadership potential for a 21st century career.
