MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID – AN INTRODUCTION.
Between home and work today you may have caught the bus or train, came in your car, perhaps rode your bike or even walked. Between home and work today you may have noticed people around you – talking, smiling, laughing, chatting either in groups or maybe they were listening to music or reading. We know 1 in 5 adults will experience mental illness each year - that’s last year, this year and next year. All mental health is important and our role in recognising the signs and symptoms of the common mental illnesses together with impact of substance/s could make all the difference for a friend, colleague, family member or even assist an individual you don’t yet know. Do you want to make a difference? If so, this session is for you. This is a participative session led by expert facilitator is Natalie Bottroff, Principal Consultant with NB Associates.

About the Presenter – NATALIE BOTTROFF, Principal Consultant with NB&A Group
Natalie’s passion for mental health drives her to advocate that a conversation amount mental health should be as simple as a conversation about a person’s physical health. To reduce stigma, takes acceptance that mental illness is a ‘health condition’ aligning to other overall health conditions such as diabetes, asthma, obesity and heart disease to name a few. The desire to see better education in this sphere comes from her work as a consultant working with organisations that have persons with psychological injuries and illnesses from their employment, ranging from mild through to catastrophic, returning work injured employees to their usual occupation or new employment.
