MEA CONNECTS: Connect With Your Industry
MEA is excited to launch MEA CONNECTS a series of roundtable discussions that will enable you to engage with colleagues from across the country. Join the forum to discuss current issues and topics faced by the industry and build on your industry connections and networks.
We invite you to join our first session on Thursday 1 October as we look at the importance of making connections for our mental fitness and resilience.
Social connection can come with a bit of a learning curve right now. And while we can still see each other virtually, the stress of our new normal and this unfamiliar digital dynamic can make it hard to replicate the easy moments of bonding that we so need right now.
While no-one really knows what impact that this unprecedented situation will have on society, our current lockdown restrictions have implications for our mental fitness no matter where we sit on the scale of mental health. Social and emotional connection are inherent needs for humans and right now physical distancing can pose a barrier to making those connections easily.
Without the everyday exchanges at workplaces and networking events, we are missing out on the ability to openly express what’s going on for us, the highs and the lows, during this “new normal”.
Wellbeing is absolutely critical in this time of uncertainty and physical isolation. Through a mixture of engaging activities, shared laughs, and meaningful conversations, we encourage participants to open up, changing up the monotony of on-screen meetings and presentations.
Join MEA, Gus Worland from Gotcha4Life and the team from Tomorrow Man/Tomorrow Woman to explore how to create and harness true connection.

What to expect: Communicating over virtual platforms can be awkward and clunky. Through our facilitators we will create safe virtual spaces for human connection to thrive. Using active and engaging facilitation we make the virtual setting a fun place to be. Allowing participants to settle in and open up, this 90 minute session will provide participants with strengthened resilience, self-confidence and collective empathy in these uncertain times.
